Dental Insurance

This benefit provides reimbursement towards the cost of dental treatment covered by the plan. You can visit any dentist you choose, including NHS and private options. There are four levels of cover to choose from for you and your family.

Dental Insurance

There are 4 options to choose from: Clear Plus 1, Clear Plus 3, Clear Plus 4 and Clear Plus 6. Each plan option allows you to select from the following levels of cover:

  • For Me
  • Me and My Partner
  • Me and My Children
  • Me and My Family

All plans offer reimbursement on NHS dental treatments (up to the annual limit). 

Any dependants you include must be covered at the same level as you. Refer to myChoice for the table of benefits for dental treatment covered and the provider’s terms and conditions. 

Please note that Orthodontic claims are only covered for dependent children under the age of 25.

Employee Assistance Programme

The Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) with Bupa provides immediate support and advice to anyone who may be experiencing difficulties either at work or at home. The EAP service is confidential, impartial and available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

The service is free and available to all HPE team members even if they don't participate in any myChoice benefit plans. The service is also available to any immediate family members over the age of 16 who are residing with HPE team members. To use the EAP service, call the helpline number on 0800 269 616.

Private Medical Scheme

The Medical Scheme with AXA is in place to assist with the cost of consultations, diagnosis and treatment at a private hospital or as a private patient in an NHS hospital, after you’ve been referred for further treatment by your GP. 

Through AXA’s self-referral pathways, you can bypass your GP and call AXA directly for muscle, bone or joint pain, or to speak to a mental health counsellor, or for breast and skin cancer concerns. You can also schedule virtual GP consultations anytime, anywhere. 

Refer to myChoice for scheme documents. Register on AXA’s Wellbeing Hub to access all the services and products available to members and manage your claims.

Private Medical Scheme

There are two Plans to choose from, each with a £75 Excess option:

Comprehensive: with or without a £75 Excess
Comprehensive Plus*: with or without a £75 Excess

You can increase your level of cover to: 

  • You and a partner (married or unmarried) .
  • You and your family (yourself, a married or unmarried partner as well as unmarried dependent children up to the age of 24). 
  • You and your children (yourself as well as unmarried dependent children up to the age of 24).

Health Cash Plan

Get money back, up to set limits, towards the cost of your routine healthcare, helping you to budget for essential health costs. This easy to use plan also provides you with fixed cash pay-outs if you ever need to stay in hospital as either an inpatient or for day surgery. You will even receive money if you have a baby or adopt a child.

Age restrictions will apply to some tests, in particular:

  • Colon Health (over 45 years of age)
  • Coronary Health (over 45 years of age)
  • Mammogram (over 40 every 12 months and if over 50 every 24 months)

  • A physical examination
  • A consultation with a doctor
  • The opportunity to ask questions and discuss concerns
  • Most test results are available on the day
  • A personalised health report
  • An action plan with practical advice to help minimise health risks
